Cake and eat it: Fundraising tea party success

Vanessa, Dawn, Sally and Isabella: The Dough Makers
A big thank you to all the supporters of the BUILD summer garden party organised by Sally Willcock and friends.  A steady stream of people came throughout the day to the 'open garden' event, all ready to have a lovely time.

Those that supported the event will be pleased to know the amount raised was a fantastic £420, for the BUILD fund. Sally Willcock said, "This is a tremendous achievement and we want to praise God for a beautiful day which enabled folk to be so very generous".

Sally and the church would also like to say a special thank you to the team who were completely fabulous. Isabella , Michael, Eleanor, Catriona, Euan, Dawn, Vanessa, Joshua, Clare, Steve, Karen, Sarah. Sally says, "I couldn’t have done it without you. I hope you had a great time too."

Progress: End of Week 6 - Spread far and wide

One moment, I thought we were paying for a new building? It seem that the builders are taking most of it away? Ah, but while on tea break they tell us that 95% of the material they have demolished will be recycled and used again. The beams will be part of a barn conversion in Hockley, the bricks will be used in Rochford and the rubble will be ground down and used on other jobs. The church spreading far an wide - that's the
point isn't it.

Meanwhile the church hall lets it's sides down, but keeps up its standards up by keeping its roof on. Good work lads, enjoy your cuppa.
