BUILD: Change to March Church Meeting date

A letter from the LRBC leadership is going out to all Leigh Road Baptist Church Members on Sunday 13th March. Those in small groups please remind the members in your group to collect theirs.

Because the information will particularly affect groups which meet on Thursday evening, here is a brief extract:

Following the receipt of tenders for the project, the BUILD team are working hard to bring the costs back within budgeted estimates….

“in order to bring a thoroughly prepared resolution for approval by the church members, the church meeting scheduled for 24th March is being postponed to Thursday 31st March.  At this meeting the leadership will recommend the contractor to be appointed and the proposed contract sum. This should mean that documents can be prepared in early April, to start work on site on Tuesday 3rd May.

Please note the change of date and make every effort to be at the church meeting.  I’m sorry for any inconvenience - especially to the Small Groups - this may cause. It seems the best solution in the circumstances”

PRAYER BRICK: 3rd March 2011

Tenders have been returned.  However the lowest tender is significantly over budget which means that in order to reach an affordable figure significant savings will need to be made: this is achievable. Pray for the Development Team: we need to ensure all the ‘essential’ items remain in the proposals but that the ‘desirable’ items are prioritised. Pray for the professional team: good working relationships with one another, good co-operation, good attention to detail, etc…so that an affordable figure can be achieved.
Pray for the professional team as they start negotiations with the contractor who submitted the lowest tender…

Keep the bigger picture!  Why is the church here?  What is our role?
