The writings on the wall. Pledge day generosity and thanks
Sunday 15th May 2011 saw another of the BUILD pledge day's at LRBC. The special service which involved a prayer walk for the building project and for safety and security of those working on the site. It was powerful to see over 200 people young and old walking the LRBC island site asking God to use the site and project for his will and glory. As we walked we were reminded of the generosity and sacrifice of former generations of the LRBC community. The workman had cleared the area of shrubs and bushes in front of the main hall. Their hard work revealing inlaid stones with the names of those that had given sacrificially to provide facilities used by those of their time and up until the present day.
We thank God for the commitment of generations past in providing for the community of Leigh-on-Sea and pray that we can rise to the challenge, sacrificially giving and providing facilities that connect people, engage community and glorify God.
Over £700,000 has been raised so far, praise God for His generosity expressed by the people and friends of LRBC.
Sunday saw a tremendous £7,229 pledged and donated. Thank you.

Progress: Bring me a shrubbery!
Bring me a shrubbery! - those famous words issued by a giant Knight in a Monty Python film. Now it looks like they have. The BUILD project is having a visual impact on the Leigh Road end of Marguerie Drive. Take a look now and you'll see there are fences are up and no shurbbery, no bushes and no foliage are to be seen, as the builders prepare the site for the work.
Exciting times.
